Teacher Information As we mentioned
on our home page we are more than happy to visit schools and
talk to teachers and students about TIE and we can
also organise workshops on the various components of the test on
request. If you are preparing students for the exam and you – or
they – have any questions or difficulties we are just a phone-call
or e-mail away and welcome your queries. Some teachers find the idea of preparing for the test without
specific materials a little daunting. However, we would like to
emphasise that the absence of a defined syllabus means that TIE
preparation can easily be incorporated into an existing course
of study and the tasks presented in the test reflect the kind of
authentic task featured in communicative language classrooms. Full details
of all of the components of the examination and ideas to help
you in preparing your students are available in our Teachers’ Handbook.
This is available free of charge from TIE Examinations Limited.
To order a copy, simply send your name and full postal address
to us. Alternatively, if you would like to receive a downloadable
version please e-mail your request to info@tie.ie. We also present workshops and talks at conferences in Ireland
and abroad. Recent and upcoming papers include:
From time
to time we are also invited to submit articles on testing and
assessment issues to ELT publications, details of which will
be included on this page. Sue and Miriam are
both members of the IATEFL SIG (special interest group)
on
Testing,
Evaluation
and Assessment and Sue is on the committee. We will keep you updated
on any interesting developments. |
